On November 14, 2017, the ABMI, with its partners in the Ecosystem Services and Biodiversity Network (ESBN) and funding provided by Alberta Innovates, hosted a science symposium on Ecosystem Services and Biodiversity. This symposium focused on data science relevant to research, management, and markets on ecosystem services and biodiversity. Invited speakers presented information on leading-edge data collection technologies as well as methods and tools that analyze, interpret, and apply ecosystem services and biodiversity information. The symposium concluded with a panel discussion on opportunities to enhance data science for transparent, efficient, and credible use on ecosystem service markets.
